Donald Trump has won the state of Tennessee by a large margin.
As expected, the majority of the voters voted in favour of the Republican candidate, taking an astounding 68.3% of the votes in comparison to Clinton’s 28.2% and winning 11 Electoral College votes in the process.
Tennessee has long been a Republican heartland since the 1950’s, winning the southern state in every election since bar the 1992 and 1996 elections which were won by Bill Clinton whilst leader of the Democrats.
Trump has taken to Facebook to thank his voters in each state that he’s won by posting images of a map of the US and highlighting the state in red with the text ‘Trump wins’ followed by the name and a red tick in a box next to it.
Clinton has also gone onto social media to show her appreciation of the support, posting an image of her and a young supporter on her Facebook page with the caption of ‘This team has so much to be proud of. Whatever happens tonight, thank you for everything.”
