The first results from the US election showed that Donald Trump’s support is strong.
Donald J. Trump won Kentucky’s 8 electoral votes.Trump won 66 percent of the vote in Kentucky, while Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton got 29 percent.
The reliably Republican state has only ever voted Democratic when a presidential candidate from the South has run, such as Jimmy Carter in 1976 and Bill Clinton in 1992.
A reported 140 million voters are participating, a new record in the election, far exceeding the 131.4 million total in 2008.
