Trump takes Alabama

Donald J. Trump has won Alabama’s 9 electoral votes fighting off Hillary Clinton in the polls.

The Republican presidential candidate has a total of 16,999 votes, 9,644 more than Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.

This result does not come as a surprise, with the Republican party predicted to claim the victory before tonights results.

Mitt Romney won Alabama in 2012 by 22.2 percentage points.
