With the 45th presidential election coming to a close it is looking more and more likely that Donald Trump will become the most powerful man in the world.
However, as Barack Obama found out, being in such a prestige position does not always mean that their laws get put into place with ease. The Senate during Obama’s reign consisted of 54 Republicans and 44 Democrats and two Independent senators.
This provided plenty of problems for the first African American president as the Senate have the power to veto any law which the president draws up and have the opportunity to outvote the Democrats.
The New York Times are predicting that 52 Republicans and only 48 Democrats will be elected into Senate with a 95% chance that the Republicans will control Senate.
If this were to be the outcome Trump would have a much easier time passing through Bills as the Republican senators can outvote the Democrats.
