Bournemouth University students in the US: Their reaction.

This historic 2016 election is an extremely close race between the two candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

“It is thought Donald Trump might win”

Bournemouth University reporters Jason Lewis, Luke Hastings and Adam Goacher have been with American students at Maryland University throughout the night.

They discovered Brexit has been frequently referenced during the night, where it was thought many voters would vote for Clinton come the election. However, they may have changed their mind in the ballot booth and voted for Trump instead.

“Many people are Shell shocked”

A large amount of Americans have admitted they are going to leave the country, where the Canadian Immigration website went down during the night.

“I’m sat here now a few hours on and Donald Trump is going to be President of the United States”

It is said that where Hillary Clinton went wrong is when she dropped down to his level and ‘punched back’ as he did to her.

“I think for starters she has gone wrong. She is a politician and he is a businessman”

“This is really going to shake it up”

Now the election night is drawing to a close it leaves many Americans thinking this is really happening and it’s pretty shocking. It is looking like a Republican White House may be in the near future after all.
