Sand filled sanitation trucks have been parked outside Trump Tower by authorities to serve as a protective barrier to the building.
Fears over a possible terror incident on election night have lead the New York Department of Sanitation to leave the vehicles outside the presidential candidate’s home to protect the building in case of an explosive attack.
This move comes as part of the New York Police Department’s promise to provide record security throughout election day.
Trucks are also in place at Javits Center, where Hillary Clinton will spend her evening and at New York’s Hilton hotel where Trump will celebrate should he win.
This tactic has been used before by police, who in 1983 protected Ronald Reagan and his family with similar vehicles whilst they ate Thanksgiving dinner in the Whitehouse.
