The DC Diary – A great tour, UMD and watching the Wizards

On day two in DC we had a brilliant day.

Yesterday morning we woke up to our complimentary breakfast at our hotel. It was great – and very American.

Pancakes with syrup, alongside eggs, sausages, toast and crispy bacon. Sorry though America, we do bacon better in the UK.

After stuffing ourselves at the buffet, we met up with the legend that is Jim Carroll – our contact from the University of Maryland.

He gave us a brilliant tour of not only central DC, but also parts of Virginia.

We then went and checked out the University of Maryland and where we will be reporting live from during the USA Votes 2016 election coverage.

We will be in the newsroom with the University of Maryland reporters from the Central News Service.

After that we went back to the hotel and got ready to go back into Washington DC to watch their basketball team, the Wizards.

Despite a loss for Washington, it was a great experience watching a live NBA game for the first time.

Here’s our vlog from day two in Washington DC…

Luke Hastings, Adam Goacher and Jason Lewis are on-location reporting live from Washington D.C in the lead up and on the night of the US Election.
